What Dispatch Software Costs a Five-Truck Company, in Numbers

Updated September 2026

This guide is different from the others here: it is about price, and RelayPoint’s price is in it. Everything else on this site keeps statistics away from the plans, because a number beside a price reads as a promise. A price beside a price is a comparison, and you should be able to check it. Here is how we counted.

On 23 September 2026 we opened the public pricing page of 27 products sold to companies like yours — general field-service software, fleet and inspection tools, and the products aimed at junk removal, movers, roll-off, portable sanitation and landscaping — and priced one company on each: five trucks, one owner, one dispatcher and six drivers or crew, on the cheapest plan that covers all eight people, billed monthly. We used only figures printed on the vendor’s own page that day. We don’t name the vendors here; the list of pages is available on request from support@relaypoint.us.

Seventeen of the 27 don’t publish a price

17 of the 27 pricing pages show no dollar figure at all: “request pricing”, “schedule a demo”, or a questionnaire that asks your industry and fleet size before anything appears. Two more publish a base price but not the price of an extra user, so the eight-person cost can’t be worked out from the page. The band below is drawn from the products that do print their prices.

The seat fee is the price

Most field-service products charge a company price plus a per-user price, and the base plan includes one user. At the two best-known general field-service products, an extra seat is $29 or $35 a month; six drivers add $174 to $210 a month before anyone has been dispatched anywhere. On the published prices, our five-truck, eight-person company comes to $252 a month on one and $329 on the other.

The flat-rate products (“unlimited users”) run $196 to $627 a month for the same company, depending on the trade and the tier. The movers’ products publish $289 to $449 a month on a 12-month agreement, plus $20 per crew member a month for a crew app with GPS. The landscaping products publish $220 to $648 a month, some with extra office or crew licences priced separately or not at all.

Fleet inspection and maintenance tools are the cheap end: $4 to $10 per vehicle a month with unlimited users, so five trucks is $20 to $50 — but those products do inspections, defects and service reminders, not dispatch, jobs or invoices. Route-only tools price per driver ($35 to $49 a driver a month) or by task volume (from $619 a month).

Put together: for a five-truck, eight-person company, a full dispatch-and-invoicing product with published pricing runs about $200 to $330 a month, with the top of the published range at $449 to $619. The inspection-only tools are $20 to $50. Card processing, where offered, is 2.59% to 3.0% plus about 30¢ a transaction on top.

Trials, cards and contracts

Of the products that say, free trials run 7 to 30 days; most ask for no card. Several offer no trial at all — a demo, then a contract. Two of the trade-specific products bill monthly on an annual contract, and one prices per truck with office seats free, which is the same shape as ours.

Where RelayPoint sits

RelayPoint is $12 per truck a month on Standard and $24 on Pro, month to month ($9 and $19 billed annually). Drivers and dispatchers are free, so the five-truck, eight-person company is $60 or $120 a month, and a twelfth driver costs nothing. There is no card processing, which is also why there is no processing fee: the invoice goes out from here, and the check or the cash comes to you the way it already does.

That is the whole comparison. It is a band and a method, not a ranking: some of those products do things RelayPoint doesn’t (card payments, online booking, QuickBooks sync), and a company that needs them should pay for them. What the band shows is what the seat fee does to a crew of eight.

RelayPoint, in your trade’s words: Movers · Junk removal & hauling · Roll-off & dumpsters · Landscaping & tree service · Portable sanitation & septic
